Installation Procedures of Duplex Stainless Steel Butterfly Valves
- Ensure that the pipeline and flange faces are free of debris. Metal filings, pipe scale, welding slag, welding rods, and other foreign materials might restrict disc movement or harm the disc or seat.
- Because they extend to both sides of the valve, robust seated valves do not require gaskets.
- Align the pipework and spread the flanges far enough apart to allow the valve body to be fitted between them without touching the pipe flanges.
- Make sure the valve disc is adjusted to around 10% open so it doesn't become stuck in the completely seated position.
- As illustrated, place the valve between the flanges, being careful not to harm the seat faces. Always use the locating holes or a nylon sling around the neck or body to raise the valve. Never use the actuator or operator installed on the valve to lift the valve.
- Place the valve between the flanges, centre it, and tighten the bolts by hand. Carefully open the disc, making sure it does not come into contact with the insides of the pipes around.
- Close the valve disc slowly to ensure that the disc edge is clear of the neighbouring pipe flange
- Open the disc completely and tighten all flange bolts as directed.
- To guarantee adequate clearances, do a complete close to full open rotation of the disc.
